Course content
1. Introduction to mathematical cartography. 2. Reference surface - sphere. Elements of spherical trigonometry. 3. Coordinate systems used in geodesy and cartography. 4. Theory of cartographic distortions. Tissot indicatrix construction. 5. Principles of map projection equations derivation. 6. Ellipsoid onto sphere projections. Gauss conformal ellipsoid onto sphere projection a its applications in ČSR. 7. Map projections used in ČSR and ČR (Křovák projection, Cassini-Soldner projection, Gauss-Krüger projection, Sanson-Flamsteed projection, UTM). 8. Global coordinate systems and their properties. 9. Possible ways of coordinate reference systems transformations and their accuracy. 10.EPSG - database of transformation parameters.

Student get summary of important chapters of mathematical cartography above all about basic questions of cartographic deformations and map projections theory. Furthermore get knowledge in coordinate reference systems transformations and spherical trigonometry.
