Course content
This course includes following items: system of studies of geographic disciplines (Phisical and Human Geographies); concept of world geography. History of geographical discoveries and outlook of how our world may look like in future. Literature and other sources, how to quote. Sources of geographic information, institutions, statistics, cartographic materials, geographic information systems.

This course is designed especially for students who chose geography as the main or secondary subject of study. It is advisable that students have basic knowledge of high school geography.
learning outcomes
Students cope with the correct use of bibliographic citations and links to resources, literature and bibliographic records. They grasp the basic stages of geographical cognition and the position of geography in the system of natural and social sciences and they acquire new knowledge about the history of geography. Students are able to use basic methods of geographic cognition and research. They grasp the structure of the landscape sphere and they are able to integrate particular elements and components and deduce relationships.
