Course content
This course consists of these following items: 1) Introduction to Geography of Health and Disease: definition of the "disease" or "health"; key terminology. 2) Data sources, databases, accessible info and appropriate literature (incl. Gapminder). 3) Example of spatial analysis of the disease in region: triangle of human ecology. 4) Serious pandemics in the world: examples from the history and presence. 5) Geography of HIV / AIDS: global pandemia with a special focus of Sub-saharan Africa. 6) Non-communicable diseases: a case study of Ethiopia. 7) Health and diseases in developed world. 8) Health and disease in our current world: what can I do to protect my health? 9) Current and up-to-date topics.
