Course content
Goals of economics and its methodology according to various schools Key terms of consumer choice theory, law of diminishing marginal utility, time preference phenomenon Direct and indirect exchange, comparison and historical milestones Basic principles of price formation on consumer goods markets Key terms concerning theory of the firm Accounting profit, economic profit, normal rate of profit Production function and related terminology, technological advance Organisation of industry - monopoly, oligopoly, monopolistic competition etc. Basic principles of price formation on higher-order goods markets Banks and loanable funds market, capital market, interest rates Typology of market failures and their causes Microeconomic tools of economic policy
