Course content
BASIC CONCEPTS AND QUANTITIES Thermodynamic system, intensive and extensive quantities, reversible and irreversible processes, overview of selected quantities, pure substance and mixture, formulation of mixtures composition. STATE BEHAVIOR OF GASES State behavior of ideal gas, state behavior of mixtures of ideal gases, state equation of real gas, gas condensation and critical point, the influence of temperature and pressure on the volume changes. FOUNDATIONS OF THERMODYNAMICS I Zeroth law of thermodynamics, work and heat, formulation of 1st thermodynamic law, applications of 1st thermodynamic law to ideal gas. THERMOCHEMISTRY Basic concepts, combining standard and standard combustion enthalpy, Hess law, Kirchoff's laws, adiabatic temperature of reaction. FOUNDATIONS OF THERMODYNAMICS II Heat machines, 2nd thermodynamic law, common formulation of 1st and 2nd thermodynamic law, changes of thermodynamic quantities, irreversible processes, extensive conditions of thermodynamic equilibrium, 3rd thermodynamic law. THERMODYNAMICS OF MIXTURES Thermodynamic description of gaseous, liquid and solid mixtures, partial molar quantities, partial molar Gibbs energy, chemical potential. PHASE EQUILIBRIUM Intensive criterion of equilibrium, phase equilibrium in one-component systems, phase equilibrium in binary systems (liquid - steam), solubility of gas in liquids, phase equilibrium in binary systems (liquid - liquid, liquid - solid). CHEMICAL EQUILIBRIUM Equations of material balance, condition of chemical equilibrium and equilibrium constant, influence of reaction codnitions on chemical equilibrium, calculation of chemical equilibrium. ELECTROCHEMISTRY Basic concepts, electrolysis, electrical conductivity of the electrolyte, the equilibrium in solutions of electrolyte, galvanic cells. CHEMICAL KINETICS Basic concepts, simple reactions, dependence of response rate on temperature, simultaneous reactions, catalysis.

analyzovat vliv vnějších podmínek na průběh různých chemických dějů
vysvětlit podstatu chemické rovnováhy a definovat rovnovážnou konstantu
vyjmenovat podmínky fázové rovnováhy
definovat základní pojmy z elektrochemie (elektrolyt, disociace, elektrolýza, galvanický článek)
definovat základní pojmy z reakční kinetiky (rychlost chemické reakce, kinetická rovnice, reakční řád, poločas reakce)

využít vybraných termodynamických veličin (objem, entalpie, entropie, Gibbsova energie) k popisu stavového chování konkrétních systémů
určit změnu termodynamických veličin při různých termodynamických dějích
stanovit hodnotu rovnovážné konstanty a vypočítat rovnovážné složení daného systému
využít fázového diagramu jednosložkového a binárního systému k popisu jeho chování za daných podmínek (teplota, tlak, složení)
řešit úlohy z elektrochemie a reakční kinetiky
