Course content
Lectures: 1. Legislation - Act no. 149/2004 Coll. 2. Laboratory animals species 3. Anatomy of laboratory animals 4. Physiology of laboratory animals 5. Care of laboratory animals 6. Anesthesia 7. Vascular access, cannulation, blood taking 8. Surgical methods 9. Analgesia and postoperative care 10. Asepsis 11. Animal models (diabetes, hypertension, chronic renal failure, denervation, volume overload, sepsis etc.).

learning outcomes
Students will be able to follow the principles of work with laboratory animals listed within the law. They will understand the species of laboratory animals, their anatomy and organ function. Students will be able to distinguish the laboratory animals diseases, methods of analgesia and ways of vascular input and will understand their farming systems.
