Course content
Lectures: 1. History of radiation. 2. Primary, secondary and extrafocal radiation. 3. Properties of X-ray and influence of X-ray quality. 4. Projection and geometric aspects of design techniques. 5. Instrumentation - X-ray equipment, tools. 6. Secondary screens and protective equipment. 7. Origin, formation and X-ray image quality, factors affecting its quality. 8. Film material, film programmes, processing of film material and technical defects of radiographs, archiving and communication systems. 9. Other imaging and recording options - sciascopy, tomography, digital records, memory luminescent film, direct digital radiography. 10. Telemedicine, PACS. 11. Densitometry and sensitometry. 12. Radiation protection of patients and staff. 13. Contrast agents - classification, history. 14. Contrast agents - properties, adverse reactions. 15. Pharmaradiodiagnostics.

learning outcomes
A graduate is able to enumerate properties of X ray radiation and a way of x-ray utilization in radiodiagnostics. He/she is able to define various ways of X-ray imaging, to master basics of radiation hygiene and basic differences in X-ray instruments and equipment. He/she is able to explain modern ways of generation of X-ray imagination.
