Course content
1. Primary, secondary and extra-focal radiation 2. Properties of X-ray radiation, factors influencing its quality 3. Projection and geometrical aspects of projection techniques 4. Instruments, X-ray devices, equipment, accessories and protection facilities 5. Origin, creation and quality of an X-ray image, factors influencing its quality 6. Film material, film programmes, processing of the film material, technical errors of radiographs. Archiving, communication and retrieving systems. 7. Alternative possibilities of projecting and recording ? skiascophy, tomography, cinematography, video recording, digital recording, memory luminescent foils, direct digital radiography 8. Densitometry, sensitometry 9. Protection form radiation of the patient and the personnel 10. Use of contrast media 11. Pharmacoradiodiagnostics 12. X-ray examination methods of the skeleton, lungs

learning outcomes
The successful student should be able to list X-ray properties and explain their utilisation in radiodiagnostics, to define various X-ray projection methods, to carry out projection techniques while respecting the rules of the radiation hygiene, to perform independently skiagraphy tasks, and to organize work in the examination unit.
