Course content
1 to 4 Contrast media positive and negative used in radiodiagnostics, characteristics of each group. Unwanted toxic or allergic reactions after administration of contrast medium, prevention of adverse events, treatment principles. Contrast invasive. Contrast noninvasive. Physics of radioactivity. Radionuclides most frequently used, their properties, application examples. Preparation of radionuclides in the reactor cyclotron theory. Description of the reactor, cyclotron, and other accelerators. Radiopharmaceuticals, types, acquisition, generators. Methods for the preparation of radioactive compounds. Kits for the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, the preparation of the workplace. Manufacturing requirements testing. SPECT radiopharmaceuticals for individual examination. PET radiopharmaceuticals theory. Production testing. The resulting image when using the camera. The most common PET pharmaceuticals and areas where they are used. 5 to 8 Excursions NRI Rez.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 36 hours per semester
  • Attendance on a field trip (number of real hours - maximum 8h/day) - 6 hours per semester

Graduate versed in the use of contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals. Can describe the production and use of radiopharmaceuticals. He knows each contrast examination in radiodiagnostics. Students will be able to describe the production and use of radiopharmaceuticals and contrast media.
