Course content
Basic immune mechanisms, basics of clinical immunology, basic investigative methods. Lectures: 1. Immune system. Non - specific and specific immunity. Phagocytosis. NK cells. Interferons. Complement. Basophils and mast cells. Mucosal immunity. 2. Antigen. HLA system. T lymphocytes. Immunoglobulins.. B lymphocytes. Immune response based on antibodies. Physiological immune regulation mechanisms. 3. Th1 immune response. Th2 immune response. Immune response based on Tc. Defence against extracellular pathogens. Defence against intracellular pathogens. Defence against viruses. Defence against polycellular parasites. 4. Immunity. Transplantation immunity. Immunologic relation mother - foetus. Rh incompatibility. 5. Immunopathologic responses type I, - IV. Immunodeficiency. Autoimmunity. Seminars: Investigative methods in clinical immunology. Investigation of humoral and cellular components of immune system.
