Course content
General haematology and blood coagulation. Lectures: 1.Blood and blood marrow, function of cellular blood elements in peripheral blood, terminology. Physiological levels of blood elements. Physiology of haematogenesis, proloferation, differentiation, maturation of hematopoietic series. 2.Development, function and destruction of erythrocytes ( synthesis and function of hemoglobin, ferrum metabolism, breakdown products Hb during intravascular and extravascular hemolysis). 3.Development and function of leukocytes. Morphological diffentiation of leukocytes. 4.Function of thrombocytes, primary haemostasis. 5.Blood coagulation, phases. 6.Mechanisms necessary for haemostasis, coagulative and fibrinolytic systems, systém of natural inhibitors. 7.Blood count and coagulation screening tests. 8.Analyzers of blood particles and coagulometers, coagulation screening tests and coagulation special tests, calibration and validation of haemocoagulation methods. 9.Laboratory diagnostics of blood diseases and disorders of haemostasis. Differential diagnostics. 10.Pathophysiology of blood disorders and disorders of haemostasis 11.Tumorous blood disorders - leukemia, mielodysplastic sysdrome, mieloproliferative disease, lymphoproliferative disease. Laboratory practicals: 1.Principles of proper laboratory work. 2.Examination of blood count on automatic haematology analyzer. 3.Examination of peripheral blood smear microscopically,determination of a number of blood cells in a counting chamber. 4.Examination of bone marrow smear microscopically. 5.Examination of hemolysis including erythrocyte osmotic resistance. 6.Examination of thrombocyte aggregation using aggregometer. 7.Examination of basic coagulation tests - prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time using coagulometer. 8.Determination of factors in plasma system of blood coagulation. 9.Determination of inhibitors in plasma system of blood coagulation. 10.Electrophoresis of hemoglobin, determination of von Willebrand factor by LIA method, evaluation of output of haematologic analyzers including interferention. 11. Cytochemical dying methods.

odlišovat fyziologické výsledky od patologických a provádět základní diferenciální diagnostiku krevních chorob
ovládat základní obsluhu a denní provoz analyzátorů a koagulometrů, kalibrovat přístroje a stanovovat denní normál
provádět přístrojovou analýzu krevního obrazu, zhotovovat nátěr periferní krve a kostní dřeně a mikroskopicky jej vyhodnocovat
