Course content
Seminar topics: 1. Genesis of political partisanship in the Czech lands 2. Interwar system of political parties and its reduction during the period of the Second Republic 3. System of limited party competition in 1945-1989 4. Establishment of party-political system after 1989 Paper topics: 1. formation of the Czech party system 2. interwar party system 3. party system in the Second Republic 4. system of the National Front 5. re-establishment of pasrty system after 1989 6. (all periods) development and pragmatics of particular political parties

Students have the knowledge of party systems typologies at the level of KAP/POL1 or KAP/PP2 and of the Czech party system at the level of KAP/CPSV and KAP/PSCR.
learning outcomes
After passing the course, students will be able to identify the main phases of the Czech party system, characterize these phases using political terminology and to determine relationships among relevant actors operating in particular phases of party system development. Students will be able to analyze changes in the relevance of particular actors, development of their relationships and interactions.
