Course content
1. international system after WW II 2. the end of bipolar world and orientation towards unipolarism 3. Czechoslovakia within the international system (1945-1992) 4. UN and important world powers 5. The Czech Republic and European integration 6. The Czech Republic and regional cooperation within Central Europe 7. The Czech economy and the world - economic interdependence as a challenge and threat 8. international security (including security education) 9. The Czech Republic and NATO - commitment to global responsibility

learning outcomes
After passing the course, students will be able to analyze the position of Czech Republic within the international system and to understand its behaviour as a regional actor. Students will be able to identify key characteristics of the international system and to define and describe the process of Czech integration into regional organizational structures.
