Course content
1. Media market in the Czech Republic in comparison with media abroad 2. The role of regional press vs. home news 3. World news and war news 4. Handling news agency reports and press briefings 5. PR and Press Secretary 6. Editorial work, proofreading etc. 7. A day in an editorial office 8. Field trip 9. Basic styles in journalism 10. Text composition and the power of the title 11. Journalists and crime victims, ethics of journalism

The student will demonstrate his/her ability to grasp the current topics of journalism and media in general and to apply the acquired theoretical perspectives to practical problems. The student will also acquire the ability to work with different types of media text.
