Course content
Further information on interpreting techniques. Information about main disciplines forming theory of interpreting. Practising the use of notation. Simultaneous interpreting - its history, principles, methods and usage. Useful advice and tips recommended by professional interpreters. EU and languages. Significance of extralinguistic means when interpreting. Individual interpreting - simulation of real-life situations.

Students are able: - to use sight and consecutive interpreting for speeches of medium length and difficulty, information, interviews, debates etc. - to know and use their own system of notation - to gather relevant materials for preparatin of a glossary to a certain topic and work it out - to know prerequisites of a successful interpreting performance and follow them
