Course content
Students will be introduced to the basic terms of business English - via theoretical lectures as well as practical exercises. The emphasis is put on the relevenace of topics selected.

  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 15 hours per semester
  • Undergraduate study programme term essay (20-40) - 25 hours per semester

Student should be at least at the intermediate level of general English
Understand the basic expressions connected with Business English
ovládat anglický jazyk na úrovni B2 dle SERR pro cizí jazyky;
disponovat dostatečně širokou a pestrou slovní zásobou v souladu s referenční úrovní B2 dle SERRJ;
adekvátně používat angličtinu jako jazyk komunikace v sociálním prostředí;
rozlišovat mezi neformální a formální mluvenou a psanou angličtinou;
orientovat se v obecných a aktuálních ekonomických otázkách ve 20. a 21. století.

dokázat používat základní odborné pojmy obchodní angličtiny;
aktivně se zapojit do diskuse na dané téma;
na základě poslechu sumarizovat odborný poslechový text;
adekvátně formulovat hlavní myšlenky autentického odborného textu z ekonomické oblasti;
na základní úrovni vysvětlit své názorové stanovisko k dané problematice.

správně používat nabyté jazykové znalosti pro snadnou a správnou komunikaci v odborném a společenském prostředí obchodního světa;
prokázat schopnost zasadit podnikatelské činnosti do širších kulturních a mezilidských kontextů;
orientovat se v mezikulturních rozdílech v komunikaci při obchodních jednáních a vyjednávání ve firmách;
aktivně používat dostatečně širokou a pestrou odbornou anglickou slovní zásobu z oblasti komerční praxe.

v základních pojmech vysvětlit základní ekonomická témata, např. podniková ekonomika a management, lidské zdroje a jiné;
aktivně se zapojit do rozhovoru, párové nebo skupinové diskuse, případně tuto diskusi vést;
adekvátně formulovat vhodné otázky k danému tématu z oblasti obchodní angličtiny;
přesvědčivě argumentovat a obhajovat své názory v angličtině na dané téma obchodní angličtiny;
vytvořit prezentaci na dané téma z oblasti obchodní angličtiny.
