Course content
This course consists of these items: Responsibilities of school worker. Educational documents, syllabi, teaching programmes - FEPs, SEPs. Educational curriculum. Curriculum timetable of geography in elementary school. Drawing in geographic education. Textbooks for teaching geography. Czech and foreign magazines with geographical focus. Key skills (competencies) of teachers. The status of geography in cross-curricular subjects. Teaching methods in geography, geographical outings, excursions, projects, preparation of their own teaching practice. Cognitive learning. Didactic transformation. Evaluation - geographical exams.

To pass this course students are expected to have fundamental knowledge in general psychology, pedagogy and methodology.
learning outcomes
Students will acquire basic knowledge, skills and attitudes in the methodology of geography and they will be able to use it in their future teaching profession. On the basis of concrete outputs students will try on the principles of transformation of selected geographic issues creation of the project and usage of various teaching methods and organizational forms. Students will grasp the organizational and content structure of FEPs and SEPs and they will realize specifics of the geographic education Students will develop their learning competency and the skills of organizing the instruction and they will be able to cope with the transformation of the curriculum and the preparation for various types of lessons. Students will be familiarized with fundamental educational documents.
