Course content
This course consists of: Importance of methodology of teaching in training teachers of geography. The status of geography in the period of transformational changes in the educational system (NEP, FEPs, SEPs, curriculum timetable, syllabi). The educational content of the course of geography at high school and its formation (education and training strategies, expected outcomes, curriculum, inter-subject relations). The status of geography in the cross-curricular subjects at high school (meaning, forms of implementation, advantages and disadvantages of different methods of implementation, time allotment). The status of an optional geographical course at high school (name, time allotment, content, objectives and importance). Methods and organizational forms in geographic education in secondary schools (summary + didactic analysis of the chosen method, geographical project). Key skills of teachers of geography and their implementation (motivation, climate of the class, evaluation). Needs of students in geographic education (expected outcomes x curriculum, key competencies, educational strategies, motivation, and evaluation). The educational aspects of geographic education (identification of problems and issues, analysis of the concrete topic). Evaluation and motivation in geographic education (teachers, students, approaches, specifics, differences, connection with SEP, examples of implementation). Traditional and non-traditional teaching aids and data sources useful in geographic education (examples and utilization). Educational analysis of the chosen thematic unit (motivation, methods, evaluation, teaching aids, educational aspects). Specifics of special pedagogy of geography.

learning outcomes
Students will acquire basic knowledge, skills and attitudes in the methodology of geography. Through the concrete examples of teaching students will test the principles of educational transformation of geographical knowledge into the system of geographic education. Through the activities (such as group work, excursions to schools, creating geographical project, working with teaching materials and using various methods and organizational forms) students will develop their abilities necessary for teachers of geography. They will realize specifics of the geographic education.
