Course content
Theme Introduction into human biology, including: human body composition, cell biology, histology, human phylogenesis. Human onthogenesis. Skeletal and muscle system. Respiratory, skin, urinary system. Circulatory and immune system. Digestive system and nutrition. Nervous system, senses, endocrine system. Sexual system, sexual behaviour and sexual education. Introduction into human genetics, hygiene, first aid, stress. Selected diseases, emphasising health education.

know human phylogenesis and ontogenesis
know human body anatomy and physiology: skeletal, muscular, respiratory, intergumentary, urinary, circulatory, digestive, nervous, and reproductive system
know how human body homeostasis is kept, typical life functions, ontogenesis and external factors reactions
know how genetics and ontogenesis influence human health
know main hazards influencing human health including pathogens and other factors causing human diseases
know hygiene rules, basics of health science and first aid
professional skills
understand relation of human anatomy human physiology and human health
characterise physiological mechanism of: muscle contraction, respiration, urine formation and urination, digestion, nervous system function, including senses, hormone function, immune reactions including immunization, menstrual cycle
be able to critically assess different information concerning human nutrition and human health in respect to anatomical structures and physiological processes in human body
characterise sexual behaviour and be able to include sexual education into the primary and secondary school education
