Key learning outcomes Graduates demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the areas of pedagogy, psychology and didactics related to teaching of computer science and computer technology; they have the latest information about the software and hardware of computers and computer systems, they understand the problems of systems theory (at an appropriate level), management and simulation and their application in education. They demonstrate the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of numerical methods, including the use of numerical methods in various application areas. They know the possibilities of e-learning and related concepts in education; they demonstrate knowledge and understanding of cross-cutting themes and cross-curriculum links and they can suggest a way to integrate it into the teaching practice.They are oriented in the area of copyright law and adherence. They are able to analyze the possibilities of using multimedia computer for teaching, evaluate and produce practical examples of computer aided instruction; create web pages for the needs of the school environment. They demonstrate advanced skills in object-oriented programming, production and processing of XML documents, paying particular attention to education. They understand the meaning of self-evaluation and can find solutions for application in school. They can analyze the various concepts of computer literacy in relation to the concept of literacy in general. They have skills in determining the quality of teaching software; further they are able to use the appropriate forms and modern methods for teaching at secondary school with regard to the specifics of computer science and information technology. They can find an electronic aid for teaching, including the use of the Internet in teaching. They can plan lessons of information technology and understand individual differences of teaching at the different type of school. They can evaluate the benefits of current trends in the use of computer systems in education in relation to the knowledge of the previous stages of development.

Profile of the programme This study programme is designed as an academic one. It consists of blocks of theoretical courses dealing with the field of pedagogy, psychology and didactics related to teaching computer science and computer technology. It provides the latest information about software and hardware of computers and computer systems, systems theory, control and simulation and their applications in education. At the same time, it comprises blocks of courses focusing on exploiting theoretical background in practice in the field of numerical methods including the use of numerical methods in various application areas. The future graduates know the practical possibilities of e-learning and related concepts in teaching; demonstrate knowledge and understanding of cross-curricular links and themes and can suggest a way to integrate into teaching practice. They focus on copyright law and the need to respect it. They are able to analyze the possibilities of using multimedia computers for instruction.
