Key learning outcomes The graduates of this bachelor study show key academic skills associated with English studies, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the core concepts and methods in linguistics, understand the relationship between culture and language, and have skills to understand, analyze, and discuss various literary works written in English. They are able to express themselves fluently and use the language flexibly and efficiently for social, academic and professional purposes (have C1 level of language proficiency).

Profile of the programme Bachelor graduates acquire a fundamental knowledge of linguistics, literature and cultural studies in English (with the focus on teaching). The language level achieved is at least B2.1 according to the European Framework of Reference; graduates are able to use English fluently and spontaneously in both academic and non-academic environments related to their studies. Depending on their choice after the first semester of study, graduates will be qualified in either two subjects (English Language and the second subject of their choice) or in just one subject (English Language) in a broader context than the case of a joint degree course. Graduates of this study programme are prepared for the master degree program in both the teaching and non-teaching programmes. Graduates further acquire a fundamental knowledge of pedagogy and psychology, which will be of relevance in master programmes covering special pedagogical-psychological and didactic subjects.
