Key learning outcomes Graduates of the study programme are equipped with basic and specialized theoretical knowledge concerning the health and social policies of the government and they make sense of the powers of the state administration in the area of the support and protection of public health. They acquire necessary knowledge of the law and legislation concerning the protection of public health, living and working conditions, and they are capable of applying them in practice. Graduates of this study programme possess knowledge of the ways of supervision and field research and other activities necessary for securing the protection and support of public health and the prevention of occurrence and spread of contagious diseases, mass diseases, diseases connected to work and other significant health disorders, in compliance with special legal enactments. They also possess knowledge necessary for research aiming to raise the quality of the care of clients and, within their field, they are capable of communicating in a foreign language on the B1 level. They are capable of performing methods of citizen education towards a healthy life style and consultancy techniques in the areas of the support of health and a healthy life style. They are capable of performing techniques of partial measurement, collection of samples and biological material for laboratory examinations in the area of the protection and support of public health. Furthermore, they make sense of the methods used for the collection of necessary data concerning the state of health of the population and of the ways of their analysis. Graduates acquire professional qualification to perform an occupation of a hygiene service assistant pursuant to Section 12 of Decree 424/2004 Coll.

Profile of the programme This study programme is designed as an occupational one. In addition to theoretical background (blocks of theoretical courses), it mainly provides skill-related courses/blocks of skill-related courses preparing the future graduate for employment in various areas/fields, such as Assistant of Protection and Support of Public Health.
