Key learning outcomes Graduates of the Medical Rescuer study programme are equipped with basic, specialized and highly specialized theoretical knowledge of professional subjects (Emergency Medicine, Medicine of Catastrophes and Mass Accidents, Emergency Nursing Care) and are capable of making independent decisions in cooperation with other distress and emergency units of the integrated rescue system. Graduates make sense of legal norms, are capable of assessing ethical aspects and presenting qualified information and educating clients while observing all ethical requirements. Graduates make sense of current trends in health and social care both in the Czech Republic and in the member countries of the EU. Within their field, they are capable of communicating in a foreign language on the B1 level. Graduates can reliably use their professional knowledge and skills within a specialized area of pre-hospital and hospital emergency care. Graduates conveniently coordinate, delegate and evaluate nursing care activities in the area of emergency care. They actively work on research in the area of emergency care and use new findings for their lifelong learning. Graduates acquire professional qualification to perform an occupation of a medical rescuer pursuant to Decree 424/2004 Coll.

Profile of the programme This study programme is designed as an occupational one. In addition to theoretical background (blocks of theoretical courses), it mainly provides skill-related courses/blocks of skill-related courses preparing the future graduate for employment in various areas/fields, such as Medical Rescuer.
