Key learning outcomes The graduate is able to understand the philosophy of the construction as a complex entity and the procedure of its design and placement in the landscape. He or she applies the knowledge of traditional and modern structural systems, structural materials and their parameters. He or she can evaluate the acquired knowledge to carry out the project documentation for simple and moderately complicated projects. The graduate is acquainted with the calculation of acting loads and with the principles for the design of structures and structural elements in accordance with the valid European codes, including the technical singularities originating from the chosen material and structural system. The graduate understands the interaction among the different parts of the construction: the load-bearing elements, the non-bearing elements, the technical equipment of the building, the chosen architectural layout and the placement as part of the landscape. He or she understands the construction process and its organizational administration from the preparatory stage through its different stages and is able to utilize IT software for structural modeling and to critically analyze its outputs. The graduate knows and applies the technical terminology in this field, is able to search for relevant data necessary for the advancement of the project, study technical literature, examine it and apply it to solve problems. From his or her academic projects, the graduate is used to working in teams, presenting the outputs of his or her work and giving feedback to support the chosen solutions.

Qualification requirements and regulations The graduate can obtain the authorization in accordance with the Law nr. 360/1992, about carrying out profession of authorized architects and about carrying out profession of authorized engineers and technicians.
Profile of the programme This study programme is designed as an occupational one. In addition to theoretical background (blocks of theoretical courses), it mainly provides skill-related courses/blocks of skill-related courses preparing the future graduate for employment in various areas/fields, such as Civil Engineering - Architecture and Land-use Planning.
