Key learning outcomes The graduate masters modern mathematical tools and methods. The emphasis lies on statistics, data processing, discrete and continuous optimization and mathematical modeling in economics and finance. The graduate acquires an intermediate level of proficiency in one major language (at least level B2 of the CEF framework). The graduate masters modern mathematical methods and improve their capabilities of creative analytical thinking. They will be able to create and analyze mathematical models of processes arising in natural and especially social sciences, carry out their computer simulations, and solve them using numerical methods. Furthermore, the graduate will be able to search for relevant information, study the literature, interpret their findings and apply them to the solution of a particular problem. Other skills include the planning, execution, analysis and assessment of a large project (a Master's thesis), the ability to work within a group, to formulate arguments and to present their results (or the results of a group) in public.

Profile of the programme This study curriculum is designed as a mathematical program with emphasis on statistics, discrete and continuous optimization and mathematical modeling in economics and finances. The goal of the program is to educate students with high-quality abstract thinking, knowledge of relevant mathematical techniques and models in modern economics and finances. Finally, the ability to process analyze real-world and simulated data is strengthened as well.
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples data analysis, finance, banking, insurance companies, management and investment consulting, and of course in basic and applied research (including PhD studies)
