Course content
Week 1 Robbery. Indirect speech. Week 2 Indifference. Space and time indicators in indirect speech. Dialogues. Week 3 Imperative, question and condition in an indirect speech. Criminality. Week 4 Issues in Italy today. Week 5 Bookshop. Zodiac signs. Week 6 Present and past gerund. Present and past infinitive. Week 7 Present and past participle. Famous writers and dramatists. Relationships. Diminutives. Week 8 Italian literature. Week 9 Reading an essay. Textual analysis. Week 10 Reading a story. Textual analysis. Week 11 Reading a passage of a novel. Textual analysis. Week 12 Revision. Week 13 Credit test.

Students can: - understand the main points of a formal and informal conversations between native speakers - enter into informal and professional conversations - understand information of both written and oral authentic general and specific language - understand general and specific information in media - provide oral or written description, narration, comparison, explanation, specification, report and confirmation - express their needs, opinion, hypothesis, approval and disapproval

Students can: - understand written and oral authentic texts of longer extend and various genres - understand and work with information in media, instructions and forms - give oral and written description, comparison, narrative, retelling, advice in an informal, professional and literary style - communicate effectively in a bookshop, library and at a police station both on the phone and personally - write a short literary work, fill in a form - express emotions and indifference
